Apprenticeships at WWL

Are you new to the NHS , considering a career change, or looking to enhance your career options within the NHS?

if so, an apprenticeship may be the perfect next step for you. An apprenticeship can provide a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career and embark on an exciting journey with WWL.

The NHS offers over 350 roles, many of which can be aligned with apprenticeship opportunities. At WWL, you'll find a diverse range of apprenticeships available, including digital, leadership, clinical, and accounting, to name just a few.

An apprenticeship at WWL allows you to launch your career with one of Wigan's largest employers, contributing to the healthcare services in our community, while also enhancing your current role and achieving your personal career goals.

Combining on-the-job training with dedicated study time, which can be self-directed, on-site at a university, or through an online provider, each apprenticeship includes a minimum of six hours of off-the-job training per week, though some clinical degree apprenticeships may require considerably more.

These opportunities can involve upskilling current staff or bringing new apprentices into various roles - whatever your age!

Open to anyone over the age of 16, apprentices can choose from options ranging from Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE) to Level 7 (equivalent to a master’s degree) and are ideal for ambitious individuals wanting to develop their careers while earning a nationally recognised qualification.

Are you a compassionate person who enjoys helping others and seeks to make a positive impact on those around you? Do you treat others with respect and dignity? Are you dedicated to giving your best every day and being a supportive team member for patients, visitors, and colleagues? If so, an apprenticeship with WWL could be the next exciting chapter in your career.

We have launched an initiative to "Grow Our Own" by recruiting from our local community, enabling more individuals to start and advance their NHS careers. This approach helps us effectively fill clinical vacancies and continue providing essential health and care services that our communities rely on and deserve, aligning perfectly with WWL's core values of placing people at the heart of what we do.
