An Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)

The IDVA provides support to people who have been assaulted or abused by their partner or a family member. The IDVA can explain the criminal justice process, attend court, and provide support on a range of things such as the emotional impacts of domestic abuse, safety planning, housing, signposting and legal matters. The IDVA acts as a single point of contact for clients who are involved in cases going through the courts.
