We recognise that coming into hospital can be an anxious time for you and you family.
If you have particular concerns or questions, the ward staff or any of the team caring for you are happy to listen and to help or advise you.
Unless you are an emergency patient you will receive a letter notifying you of your admission to hospital. This tells you:
It is very important that you telephone the ward on the morning you are due to come in to check that a bed is free for you. Emergency admissions can mean that beds are occupied unexpectedly, but even if a bed is not free first thing in the morning, we will try to admit you later in the day.
Your admission letter will tell you where to report to; if you are in doubt, please ask the staff at the main reception desk. We advise you to bring your admission letter with you. This will ensure you are directed to the correct location.

Please note that parking on site is limited and at busy times it is often difficult to find a space. There are pay and display car parks for patients and visitors.The main one is at the front of the hospital. Please remember that if the relative or carer who is taking you to the hospital wishes to go to the ward with you, they will need change for the parking ticket machine. The car parks are patrolled by security guards however, the Trust is not liable for any damage to vehicle whilst it is on Trust premises.
