Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) has chosen the Brick as our partner for the 2024 Christmas Appeal, in the form of Comfort Bags for the homeless.
As winter draws near, more people in Wigan and Leigh are facing homelessness and urgently need support. With help, we can make a difference by providing Comfort Packs — lifesaving essentials that offer warmth, nourishment, and a message of care for those without a place to call home.
WWL staff are supporting the appeal by making up gift bags or boxes containing items such as gloves, hats, toiletries, underwear, sweet treats & chocolate, crisps, sachets of coffee and hot chocolate, tea bags, instant porridge and cereal bars.
Keely Dalfen, CEO at the Brick said: "We are currently supporting just over 100 adults in temporary accommodation and around 40 rough sleepers – and for Christmas Day we are hosting a meal for everyone, either in their temporary homes or our shelters."
WWL's target is 100 comfort bags which the Brick will collect and distribute on Christmas Eve.
