Michael Karski is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Wrightington Hospital and is on the specialist register. He qualified from Manchester University in 1999 and underwent his surgical training in the North West of England. He completed his specialist training with a foot and ankle fellowship at Wrightington Hospital, and was awarded a BOFAS travelling fellowship to visit a foot and ankle unit in Baltimore.
Mr Karski specialises exclusively in surgery of the foot and ankle. He treats a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions and his surgical practice ranges from toe surgery to ankle replacement. He has a special interest in sports injuries of the foot and ankle and is honorary orthopaedic surgeon to Blackburn Rovers Football Club.
Mr Karski is dedicated to teaching and is co convenor for the Lower limb course FRCS course for orthopaedic surgeons at Wrightington Hospital. He has also given interactive talks to GPs regarding foot and ankle conditions at
Wrightington hospital. In addition, he has regularly taught on national and international courses regarding ankle replacement surgery.
Mr Karski’s previous research has been presented nationally and internationally and he has published articles in peer reviewed journals.
