Angela is on the specialist register as a Consultant Chemical Pathologist. She has worked at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust since 2011.
She trained as a Specialist Registrar in Chemical Pathology in the Northwest Deanery rotating through Salford Royal Foundation Trust (formerly Hope Hospital), Central Manchester Foundation Trust (Manchester Royal Infirmary and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital), South Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Bolton Hospital. She has also worked at Leighton Hospital and the Christie.
Since appointment Angela has continued to work in the sub-speciality area of cardiovascular risk assessment in metabolic medicine with focus on treatment of dyslipidaemia and familial hyperlipidaemia including clinical trial work on novel lipid lowering agents. Other clinical activity is clinical management of diabetes and morbid obesity with and without co-morbidities.
She has teaching experience in Clinical Biochemistry supporting medical and clinical scientist trainees (undergraduate and postgraduate) and trainees in related allied health professions.
Agenla is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, member of the Association of Clinical Biochemistry and a fellow of the Manchester Medical Society.
