Mr. Balasubramanian commenced the post of Consultant Physician in Elderly Medicine in September 2008. He was trained in the North West Deanery as Specialist Registrar in Geriatrics and General Internal Medicine at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport; Royal Albert Edward Hospital, Wigan; Royal Bolton Hospital, Bolton; South Manchester University Hospital, Wythenshawe and Royal Preston Hospital, Preston.
Mr. Balasubramanian’s areas of special interest are Orthogeriatrics Osteoporosis and falls. He participates in the newly commissioned Medical/Trauma liaison service, collaboration between the Medical and Orthopaedic directorate, whose main purpose is to provide medical input, stabilise the patient pre and post surgery and assess people for rehabilitation in the orthopaedic ward.
Mr. Balasubramanian is a keen teacher and dedicated to teaching and training of junior doctors.
