Imran is on the Specialist Register in Respiratory and General Medicine. He is a Pakistani British, who was born in Pakistan and graduated from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. His specialist training was in Britain at the Trent and Yorkshire Deaneries. He undertook research at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School in Dundee, Scotland. He has been working as a consultant in respiratory medicine at WWL since 2005. He was previously a consultant at West Suffolk Hospitals, Bury St Edmunds and Papworth Hospital, Cambridgeshire.
Imran is an important member of the WWL respiratory team, which provides comprehensive respiratory services to the patients of the area. He has special interest in Tuberculosis, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease, Cough and Interstitial Lung Disease. He is the lead physician for these illnesses and clinical lead physician for oxygen services in the Trust.
Imran is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer within the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences, at the Manchester Medical School. He is very passionate about teaching and training of medical students and junior doctors. He has over 50 publications and abstracts in various peer reviewed journals.
He takes active part in management activities in the Trust and is the Clinical Director for Audit and Governance in the Medical Division.
