Sports Knee Clinic
This service is led by four of the North West’s most highly experienced Knee Injury Consultants. The clinic is available at both Wrightington Hospital and the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary (Wigan), and provides diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of knee injuries, both acute (severe) and chronic (constant or persistent). Common problems treated include:
Knee Ligament Injuries:
- ACL (anterior cruciate ligament)
- PCL (posterior cruciate ligament)
- Combined Ligament injuries
- Revision Surgery
Meniscus Injuries:
- Repair
- Resection (trimming)
- Replacement/Transplant
Cartilage Injuries and Early Arthritis Management:
- Microfracture
- Osteochondral Grafting
- Osteotomy
Patellofemoral disorders/patellafemoral clinic:
- Patella instability
- Patella femoral OA
- Patella tendinopathy
- Anterior knee pain
