Text Reminders Service
Across WWL’s services, text reminders are being re-introduced as part of our appointment reminder and patient portal service.
Appointment reminders will be sent to you by text message from 07860 039092 or via email with a link to nhs.my/wwl - You can follow this link to login to your patient portal and manage your appointments online.
We have partnered with DrDoctor, a digital health company, to deliver this service.
Patients who prefer paper letters can still receive their letters by post as usual.
More information on this service is available below or you can view our FAQ page.
- Why are we re-introducing text reminders?
We are re-introducing text reminders to help you keep track of your appointments.
Easy access to monitor your appointments can then be made through the my.nhs/wwl patient portal, where you can rearrange or cancel appointments should you need to, in turn helping to lower waiting times for other patients by offering them the available appointment slot.
Using text reminders will also:
- Save the NHS money by reducing the amount of paper and stamps we are using
- Reduce our environmental impact
- Getting started
To access the DrDoctor secure patient portal we need your correct details on our system. Please check with our Appointment Centre by calling 0300 555 4567, by emailing appointments@wwl.nhs.uk, or at reception on your next visit to the hospital. Please ensure the following details are correct:
- Full name
- Date of Birth
- Postcode
- Mobile phone number
If your details are correct, you can access the patient portal by visiting nhs.my/wwl to get started!
Once you're online, you can:
- View appointment details
- Request to change or cancel your appointment
- View location information, including maps
- View important clinic information
- Add your appointment to your personal calendar
- Changing or cancelling your appointment
Currently, you can request to change or cancel an appointment online, with a view to WWL introducing this capability through text message in the future.
You can still change and cancel your appointment as usual by contacting us through the WWL service your appointment is with.
How to change or cancel your appointment online
- Follow the link in your text message or visit nhs.my/wwl to log in to your patient portal
- Enter your last name, date of birth and postcode. We may send you a one-time code to check it is really you. Enter this into the webpage
- Once online you can request to change or cancel your appointment
- We’ll review this request and you’ll receive a text message confirming if we could make this change or not
- If it is too close to your appointment, or you need transport or a translator you will need to call the WWL service your appointment is with to change your appointment.
