WWL Free Wi-Fi
*Please note: This service is currently being implemented and may not yet be fully operational.
Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS foundation Trust (WWL) is pleased to provide free Wi-Fi wireless internet access to our patients, staff and visitors.
The network SSID (Service Set IDentifier) for the Trust Wi-Fi is – WWL Free Wi-Fi
This service is provided to the Trust by a supplier called WiFi SPARK ( http://www.wifispark.com/)
This is a limited service that allows access to the Internet for general web browsing and email. Patients, staff and visitors will require the use of a device such as a smart phone, tablet or laptop to gain access. Access is available throughout the Trust but will be subject to capacity restraints and Wi-Fi signal availability. At busy times, the speed of the Wi-Fi connection may be reduced or the number of users may become full. If this occurs, please try to access the Wi-Fi service again later.
Access to video streaming sites is blocked as this would severely affect the user experience on the Wi-fi. Access to a number of categories of web sites is also blocked (for example pornographic or gambling sites).
If you experience problems connecting to the Wi-fi you will have to contact WiFi SPARK support desk directly on 0844 848 9555. Users may need to configure their devices for access to the free Wi-Fi with support and guidance from WiFi SPARK. Trust staff are unable to help with Wi-Fi access problems.
